Pastor Roger Peterson is a graduate of Houghton College and Asbury Theological Seminary. He was appointed to Bethel United Methodist Church of Oil City on July 1, 1980, and has since served churches, mostly in communities about the size of Titusville, all across Western PA. Pastor Peterson retired from full-time ministry as an Ordained Elder in The Western United Methodist Church on June 30, 2021.
In 1977 he married his wife, Abbie. Abbie grew up on a dairy farm just outside of Spartansburg, PA. She is a retired registered nurse. Roger and Abbie have two adult sons and one granddaughter.
Pastor Roger enjoys preaching from the Bible, God’s timeless, eternal truth and doing children’s sermons. He enjoys walking, watching baseball, and going out for lunch with family and friends.
He was appointed to Bethel United Methodist Church in 2021, and continues to serve The Lord and the Church with gladness.
